Weekend Antics

A trip to the Blue Mountains, the 3 sisters looking resplendent in Autumn colours!

The colours at this time of year in mountains are just fantastic. The walk down and back up the giant stairs, not so fantastic, specially with a 4 year old who has become obsessed with the Dreamtime Story of the 3 sisters. Love the story, but I've told it well over a hundreds times this week!

I need a T Shirt that says 'I'd rather be sewing' - mmm walking lots, not really my favourite, I enjoyed the cable-car ride immensely, just 'looking' at the view is more than fine by me.

I did get some sewing in, my Softie For Mirabel ...

She's a bit 'other worldy' not sure what it is, something with legs and ears and a happy face, nice for a baby to play with I think. I forgot to photograph the back though, I will before I send her to Pip.

Speaking of Newtown, we are off to the The Enmore Theatre tonight to see Ross Noble - it's my birthday today, and any excuse for some good humour, delivered in an accent that I understand!

Cheap Therapy

I'm a virgin knitter!

I found this wool at the oppy and really love the texture, not sure what it is some sort of mohair hybrid, it's lovely and soft, and after the week I've had, I just need something gentle to sit and do - it's strangely comforting, even though my knitting is still very naive! I'm trying to knit a scarf, after checking out how to cast on from the net - I didn't read how to cast off yet, will wait till I'm up to that part in a few years time.

Knitting is very slow, compared to sewing, but you can knit and blog, knit in front of the tele, knit and engage with your demanding child!! Not quite ready to knit in public, but you know, I could if I wanted to!!

I feel like a bad Mum each time I say/feel this, but school holidays are tough, one week down (almost) and another one to go.

I'm angst ridden today, even though we've been out to Playgroup and there's stuff to do, it seems never enough for Miss P. She just calls out 'Muuuuuum do you like my cubby house, come and see, see can you see? can you see me?' Sounds cute (and I know it is really) but ALL day - times it by 40 and, well, you get the picture.

Every time I start to do anything that doesn't involve her directly, she starts on at me - just gets so tiresome ...... Any one who thinks having 1 child is easy - well, I'd like to dispel that myth: there are no other siblings to play OR fight with, it's intense! Having 1 sedentary child would be easy, I imagine, but P just wants it all RIGHT NOW!

Ho well - big sigh - I know that in 5 or so years she won't want to be seen with me - so on the upside, I'll try and make the most of it - promise I will!
