Mudder's Day

A little party dress for Parker. Made with vintage brushed cotton.
Yesterday was Mother's Day. We were going to go to the Zoo, but it started raining in the morning, instead we went to The Museum of Contemporary Art, to see Yayoi Kusama: Mirrored Years. An amazing exhibition. She's 80, and still going strong, I want to be just like her when I'm old and pink!!

This week I have mostly been reading

Images above from dottie angel
... Interior design blogs, I've become obsessed! My favourites being:
Design Sponge - love the before and after section, very inspiring.
And...
Check them out, for a drool fest of colour and imagination. I love to see how people decorate their spaces. I get complacent with the space around me, it's too easy to leave things the way they are (true for lots in life), but I think everything needs a reshuffle every now again.

My Creative Space

My little work room.

A space to create.

I enjoy it when it is laying dormant like this, full of promise, the next project floating around in my head somewhere.

Twas a dark, and rainy day

We decided to give our Chiswell chairs a long over due make over
These chairs are older than me! Remnants of the original, avocado coloured vinyl.
The tools of the trade.
The end result, much better.
We got these chairs from Big D's Nan.
They were covered in a rather drab, cream brocade.
This is their 3rd makeover, which would mean
that I must be due for a makeover too right?

Misc.

Another year older, and more junk-age accumulates in my trunk-age!
The oppy has been very kind to me, love these two wooden dolls,
crudely hand painted in vibrant colours - got to be happy with that.
plus some fabric ...
I got more than the usual ambivalence from Big D when I showed him the above,
I got a scrunched up nose, and something about a 'Mu-Mu'.
I like it.
This one is quite amazing in the flesh, really light weight cotton. And I love this atomic bark cloth, reminds me of little beach-huts.
Cute colours in this one, and very big, 4 meters.
And, to redeem himself, he bought me this book for my Birthday.
'Textile Designers At The cutting Edge' Mainly European Designers, though Publisher Textiles get a couple of pages.
It's a yummy book, full of amazing textiles, that I'd love to own.
I think my trunk runneth over.

holiday snaps

'Bottle of Milk' at Lorne - yummy burgers, great coffee.
We really do love every piece of Victoria!
Geelong was catching up with friends, no op-shopping, can you believe it?
Just too busy taking in the sights.
I felt a bit guilty dragging Little P and Big D into Op-shops,
all they wanted to do was sight-see, jump on the trampolines and eat,
which was fine by me really.
Erskine falls, so beautiful, absolutely the most ancient ferns I've ever seen!
The Great Ocean Road, is just, well great!
Home now, and another week of school hols left.
Craft table is busy, as it's raining in Sydney.
There's glitter from one end of the house to the other.

Hippity-Hop-Happy Easter

We had our Easter Hat Parade at school today, it was lots of fun,
thought I'd take photos before the event, while the hat is in one piece.
Kind of an 'Easter explosion'!
And so ends Term 1 .... and off we go to Geelong.
A road trip.
I'm planning:
op-shopping, eating, sleeping, reading.
A suburban bush walk, this park near our place.
P (in red skirt) with some cousins.
