Zwitsers

They don't look pretty, but these little Dutch biscuits are quite the yummiest biscuits out of a packet! If you haven't tried them, you must go to the shop right this minute and find them, bring them home, put the kettle on and enjoy.

Don't you just love the dumbing down of society when it comes to labelling? (actually lots of things) but check out the packet, it says 'BISCUITS' - just in case you thought you were buying a can of cat food! My all time fave dumb label would have to be some pencils I bought for Parker, which said on the box 'suitable for drawing and writing' right I thought, I'd better grab 2!

I haven't tried these... am surprised, as my partners family is Dutch, so we get bombarded with all things Clog!!

Same here, and my mum is Dutch. She's always buying us the Speklaas or whatever they're called...the cinnamon-y ones in the red packet. They're pretty yummy too.

I like the almond fingers - the ones with the squishy almondy stuff inside, that's 'cause I'm german. Your dumb labels comment reminded me of some tv show talking about the fact that some countries only put pictures of what's inside the can on their packages, so how confused they must be to see those cute kitties and babies on some of our tinned goods!

I am obssessed with the almond fingers, and whenever one of the two supermarkets in my town has them (often it's a empty space on the shelf), I buy them and eat them for breakfast with coffee. Have never seen the zwitsers before, but all the dutch prepackaged stuff is good in my opinion. They had a lot of it at my dutch father-in-laws mother's funeral, I was very pleased with the food selection. She was ninety something so it wasn't sad.
P.s. Now you can give me the award for stupidest long comment ever..

On no account should these confections be given to pug dogs, or any breed with a shortened muzzle. This is the advice offered by Mrs Belle Caruna of Rutland, an expert on the subject. Best wishes, Mrs P
