Get Your Flounce On!

Some Autumn skirts for my nieces in Melbourne. Photos taken in haste, should have given them their final press before taking pics, but was in a hurry to get them in the post-pack and off in the post, so these pics are taken with the skirts on the actual ironing board. Hastily posting as well, as Big D has gone to pick Little P up for pre-school!

Me in the (bathroon) mirror with my favourite accessory - it's a vintage button necklace, bought for me by my sister before she relocated to Melbourne. Thanks to One Red Robin for such a great theme this week .... I'm off to look at everyone else's fave accessories!

(oops, forgot that this isn't supposed to be posted till Sunday! Such a rule breaker!!) On Sunday I guess I could talk about the other accdessories in this picture - you can just see my wedding ring - which has an apple green tormaline (rhymes!!) in it - and is white gold, and then there's the ever popular cheap camera - and what about the orange towel? - Everyone needs one - this post is just accessorised to the max!!

Mmmmmmarimekko for the little one

I found this vintage Marimekko (printed in 1973) a while ago at the oppy, and there wasn't much of it, I've ummed an ahhed about what to do with it ever since, then I got the inspiration (like a bolt of the blue) to make a panel at the front with plain cotton, so I chopped up the pattern, and put it together, with an applique from the left overs. The back is all Marimekko, and is quite bright in real life. I thought the pink was going to be too much for me - but as I've made it, well it's not really is it?

Slower than a wet week in Bornmouth..

I've started to un pack my sewing stuff.......

And I'm getting there slowly........

I've got a sunroom in which to sew and swear, and a bit more time this year, so strap yourselves in, it's going to be a bumpy ride!

1) When ever I HAVE to come up with something about myslef, my mind goes to mush. Job interviews are tough - as is any kind of public 'showing off', ergo the blog, it's the gentle form of showing off!

2) I am addicted to fabric softner ('Fluffy Jasmine Fresh' is the fave at the mo) I know it's not environmentally friendly, but by crickey the smell and the feel of your clothes - yum!

3) I don't like to do blog posts without a least one photo (this is one that Big D took, it's a Grevillia - lovley!!)

4) My middle name is Constance!

5) I'm really partial to using old fashioned sayings, things like 'by crikey', 'bless your cotton socks' & 'you never know until you try'.

6) I'm a big lover of the inbetween seasons (Spring and Autumn) and complain loads in summer when it's too hot!!!

7) We have a female ginger cat, over 90 per cent of ginger cats are Toms, we got lucky with our 'Bupka'

This is....

I seriously collect all kinds of things, West German Pots, Betossi ceramics, vintage aprons, vintage linen/fabric, embroidery, 70's shoes, art, 60's art glass, ceramic birds AND ducks with carts, they have to have the cart! These are hard to find, hence the small collection - this is all I've managed to find so far!
