Help - I've Lost my Mojo!!!

I know that I'm amongst friends when I say that my mojo has up and left, and I'm a feeling a bit blue about it, I know you understand - I've been trying for 3 days to make stuff and it's all just turning out like crap - what can be done? I'm starting to freak out, perhaps all the stuff I made so easily were all just flukes (that's what I suspected all along)!! It came too easily, and now it's left too easily, will it come back?? Panick attacks just thinking about it - at least when the motor goes on my machine, I can replace it - but seriously what if it never comes back? I'll have to take up soccer, or something equally awful like housework!

My 5 year old niece calls her mojo her 'rock' "I just don't have my rock right now".... I like that. it's a bummer that my rock leaves me now, cause there's a hundred and one things I'd like to make at the moment, stuff for Christmas. Parker calls Santa "Mr Christmas" I like that.

Any way, I'm slightly cheered by New Idea 1982, what a shame that KMart no longer stock patterns and fabric, it's not a shame, however, that John Farnham no longer does ads for pertoleum jelly in a dressing gown!

That's a really scary add.
Your mojo will come back.

don't worry - it will come back. It's just your creative mind telling you that you need a little break - you will come back even better. So try and enjoy not creating. (do you think it could be pms?)

I love John Farnham!!! So gorgeous in his dressing gown.

I can remember K-Mart having lots and lots of craft stuff; fabric off the roll and heaps more wool than they do now. I'm just glad I can't remember that add with 'Johnny' in it. Mojo will return, I'm sure. I think it's the silly season on it's way that makes us freak out a bit.

I blame Christmas. Christmas has stolen my mojo - I can't think of any ideas for Christmas presents! It may have to be gift vouchers this year. Or I could bake cookies.

I felt exactly the same way about two weeks ago. Then I gave myself permission to have a break for four days. Four days of not beating myself up for not doing anything, four days of blog browsing, four days of what ever I wanted.

Then it came back with avengence!

omilord Claire.... that's all so very wrong ... to read your post title, then see an ad asking what JF does with his vaseline.... *shudder* PMSL

Yep, I'm hearing you on the sewing mojo thing too. You should see the softie I made today... hrmmm- or maybe not! I have been trying to get myself to just do *something* - you know, steps along the way to finishing something.

Do you think you're expecting too much of yourself? Maybe spreading yourself a bit thin??

It'll come back :o)

I'm a bit distressed thinking what he might do with his Vaseline.

I have days like that as well, it's so frustrating because I feel as though I want to be sewing and not wasting time, but sometimes that's exactly what I need--a day or two when I'm not trying to create anything because I just make the stupidest mistakes. If you feel you need to be doing something, maybe try re-organizing things, or sorting through cloth--I always find things I forgot I had, or even wasting time just looking at different things online or in books for inspiration.

It'll come back, Claire...its just hibernating now. Just go with the flow for a bit, before you know it, you'll be madly crafting away again.

Hey girl - dont worry - your creative flow CANNOT leave you - its just resting somewhere in far north Queensland - getting ready for the onslaught of Christmas....You wait - when it comes back all rested it will go off!!

Aww Miss! Mojo your way down here and I'll give you a cuddle... because look at you... you make good stuff! Even the craftiest gal can't be crafty all the time.... Don't be so hard on yourself.. go put on a crap movie and eat a whole box of savoury shapes whilst sipping a cocktail from a vase-disguised-as-a-glass! If that doesn't work take 2 hours on Flickr late at night looking at all your friends FAVOURITES and you'll be right as rain in no time!

I've got it too...that mojo thang.
We're all just tired and blah from the hectic now-ness of everything we need to do. I think I need to teach myself a thing or two about reading patterns, then maybe I could set out with some purpose instead of fluffing around wasting time & fabric on shit projects that end up in the bin!
